MMA News – March 22, 2011

  • Jared Shaw, former vice president of EliteXC, claims that Frank Shamrock offered to fix a fight with Kimbo Slice.  In this situation, Shamrock would have been the replacement for his brother Ken at the show where Seth Petruzelli ultimately defeated the street fighter.  Shamrock denies that this ever happened, but I might side with Shaw on this one.  After all, money for adult braces doesn’t just fall from the sky.
  • Superior Challenge, a Swedish MMA promotion, has a pretty decent fight card lined up for April 30.  Jeremy Horn will fight Thales Leites and Rich Clementi will fight Reza Madadi.  It’s amazing that Horn is still in action, though he might just be participating in MMA as some kind of ongoing CTE case study.  Actually, Horn has only been knocked out twice in his 100+ fight career, so the Sports Legacy Institute might be better off following Ken Shamrock or Andrei Arlovski.
