Key Fights – Week of June 6

This week of fights is a little thin, but we do have a very big UFC card this coming Saturday.  Six top ten fighters and eight top 25 fighters will be in action including Junior dos Santos vs. Shane Carwin with the winner getting a shot at Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez.  The loser seems destined for a match with Brock Lesnar or Frank Mir.  Kenny Florian will be making his debut at featherweight, Mark Munoz moves up a couple of levels to fight Damian Maia, and featherweights Dustin Poirier and Michihiro Omigawa both have important fights ahead of them.

You know what sucks?  Despite the big chunk of money I pay to Comcast on a monthly basis, I don’t even get offered HDNet.  This became especially apparent when a visit to nearby family revealed that they get HDNet in their area.  While I got to watch It’s Showtime kickboxing and Inside MMA on Saturday, I’m still without HDNet and will have to miss this week’s MFC event featuring Drew Fickett and Marcus Davis.

Score Fighting also has a show this weekend in Canada featuring Marius Zaromskis and Sokoudjou in action.  Check the upcoming fights tab for a full listing of fights in the near future or further down the road.
