Key Fights – Week of August 8

Definitely not a bad week of MMA ahead of us.  We’ve got a couple of minor shows from Zuffa with some major fights.  Jorge Gurgel and Danillo Villefort will both be in action at Strikeforce Challengers 18, while we’ll see Ronda Rousey go up against Sarah D’Alelio on the same card.

For the UFC’s fifth show on Versus, Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle is the main event but I’m really looking forward to the Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson fight.  Somehow, a top bantamweight bout between Joseph Benavidez and Eddie Wineland won’t make the main card, but that should be a good contest.  Check out the other action on the upcoming fights tab.

  • Women’s Middleweight: Ronda Rousey (4-1, No. 10 WMW) vs. Sarah D’Alelio (4-1)

  • Women’s Catchweight (120 lbs.): Angela Magana (9-4, No. 12 WLW) vs. Avery Vilche (2-5-1, 1 NC)

UFC Live 5 (8/14/2011)

  • Welterweight: Dan Hardy (23-9, 1 NC, No. 23 WW) vs. Chris Lytle (30-18-5, No. 24 WW)

Probably so. The next seven days are going to be extremely busy for me, but I’ll try to pump out the usual previews and results.
